Personal Reccomended Browser Extensions

In the spirit of my previous post, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite browser extensions that I use on a daily basis. These extensions are compatible with Chromium derivatives (like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge) and Firefox, so you can easily find them in your browser's extension store.

This post was last updated on February 10, 2026. If you have any suggestions for extensions to add to this list, feel free to reach out to me!

uBlock Origin

A powerful ad blocker that also blocks trackers and malware sites. It can block ads on Youtube, Google search, and selectively block elements on any webpage.

The "Disable JavaScript" feature can unlock paywalls on news sites

Many news sites want their content to be freely accessible to indexing bots from Google or Bing, which attempt to load these websites without their JavaScript enabled to save bandwidth. These sites will only implement paywalls for users with JavaScript enabled as to not interfere with the crawler bots. However, keep in mind that this may violate the site's terms of service, and it's always best to support content creators when possible.

CAUTION

UBO works on Edge (as of writing) and Firefox, but not Chrome. UBO Lite is a limited, but futureproof version.

Bitwarden

A free and open-source password manager that securely stores your passwords and can autofill credentials on websites. It also has a password generator and can sync across devices. Having been fed up with other similiar products, I've found Bitwarden to be secure but hassle-free to setup.

Monolith

A simple extension that allows you to save any webpage as a single HTML file, including all images. This is much better than the built-in "Save as webpage" feature in browsers, which creates a separate folder for images and can break if you move the HTML file. Monolith is a CLI Tool, but the unofficial browser extension is a convenient way to use it without needing to install anything on your system.
